BARRO

FACTORY OF
HANDCRAFTED
ARCHITECTURE

Barro // Buenos Aires + Rotterdam

Barro (Spanish) > Clay: stiff, sticky fine-grained earth that can be moulded when wet, and is dried and baked to make bricks, pottery, and ceramics. Just like clay, space can also be sculpted to create bespoke, handcrafted places that fit the needs and desires of their users. Contemporary technology offers us a varied palette of materials and techniques that provide efficient, sustainable and feasible solutions for architecture. We give these materials and techniques a twist, understanding them as means to create crafted designs that make each project unique. In BARRO, all components are designed; from the way in which a building interacts with the city, until the way in which two constructive elements come together. Every inch of a project is crafted to reach the most suited space for its users, place, and time.
